Louis Fanourakis
Louis was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He played football from the 6th grade all the way through high school, and was named Most Valuable Player his senior year. One day at a friend's house, Louis and his friends Greg, Stuart, and Mitchell were listening to a Led Zeppelin album on Greg's brand new Panasonic state-of-the-art record player! They were so overwhelmed by the power of the music that they decided to start a band. Louis saved half of his lunch money for one year and purchased his first amp and guitar -- a Fender Deluxe Reverb for $199 and a Fender Telecaster with case for $175 (both brand new). All the guys but Mitchell learned how to play, but to this day they never have all played in the same band.      Louis moved to Oregon in 1976. He attended Linn Benton Community College, majoring in business. He later owned and operated Pacific Electronics in Albany for 5 years. In 1994, he sold the building to Cub printing. He is currently working as a buyer for one of the largest car stereo retailers in Oregon.
On July 30, 1988, Louis was married to Shannon, and on May 1, 1990, their pride and joy, son Chris, was born. Inheriting his musical genes from both his mom (classical) and dad (rock and roll), Chris plays piano and is starting to play violin and guitar and likes to sing.
Louis has played in many local bands, including Sass, The Back Page Band, and Odd Man Out, to name a few. He loves all types of music, espcially R&B, jazz, Big Band, and Motown. His favorite guitar players include Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck. His all-time favorite bands are The Beattles, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and CCR. Louis's hobbies are woodworking, model building, electronics, and gardening.
